Speaker: Peter G. Skiko

Peter G. Skiko has been a trial lawyer in Chicago for 20 years, and is an equity partner at Chicago litigation firm Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP. He counsels security providers locally and nationally on issues ranging from allegations of guard misconduct, failure to prevent third party criminal acts, negligent hiring, inadequate training, contract/post order formation and insurance coverage. He spoke at last year's MSC and is a regular speaker at ASIS Chicago chapter events. His talk will focus on some of the more common mistakes he sees contract and in-house security providers make before an incident occurs that end up costing them time and money in the form of lawsuits. Mr. Skiko will discuss such questions as:
  * As a security provider, how much training do you have to do? And how much is too much?
  * How can social media usage by your staff affect your business?
  * What are the most common (and easily avoidable) mistakes contract security providers make when drafting contracts, memorializing incidents and hiring personnel?
